Leadership Structure
The colleges leadership structure includes a governing council, members of the management staff headed by the provost of the college, members of the academic board, dean of schools and head of departments.
The Management Team
The Governing Council
- The Governing Councils are policy making organs. Their functions amongst others include the following:
- Play a general supervisory role over the administration of the institutions;
- Serve as bridge between the government and the institution;
- Protects the right of all in the College;
- Ensure compliance to Government rules and policies;
- Exercise general control over the finances of the institutions and ensure accountability
- Ensure judicious utilization of resources in accordance with government approved guidelines;
- Responsible for the appointment of all senior staff through the appropriate Committees;
- Approve budgets of the institutions, and ensure institutions solvency;
- Act as the judge to alternative dispute resolutions mechanisms to ensure stable Academic calendar and crises free environment;
- Serve as a link between the institutions and their communities;
- Be the custodian of all assets of the institutions and exercise oversight functions on the activities of the institution;
- Have a general control over the character of the institution including approval/review of mission statements and strategic plans with the general guidelines of government or relevant supervisory agencies;
- Oversee the establishment of educational programmes in the institutions in accordance with guidelines given by the relevant supervisory agency;
- Act as liaison between the institution and the visitor; and
- Connect the public and private sector, legislature etc to garner financial support or political sympathy on related issues that will assist the College.
Academic Structure of the College
The College is organized into Schools, each headed by a Dean. Every School is made up of a number of departments of related subjects. The affairs of the departments are managed by the heads of Departments.
The provost is both the administrative and Academic Head of the College. He is assisted by the Deputy Provost who acts as Provost, in the absence of the Provost.

The Academic Board
The Academic Board of the College shall consist of the following members:
- The Provost of the College who shall be the Chairman;
- All Heads of Academic Departments;
- The College Librarian;
- Not more than two members of the Academic Staff other than heads of departments to be appointed by the Council; and
- The Registrar of the College to serve as the Secretary of the Board.
Functions of the Academic Board
The Academic Board of the College shall be responsible for:
- The direction and management of academic matters of the College including the regulation of admission of students, the award of certificates, scholarships, prizes and other academic distinctions;
- Discharging any other functions which the Council may from time to time delegate to it;
- Making period report on such academic matters to the Council as the Council may from time to time direct;
- Prescribing and modifying from time to time entry requirements into the College;
- Amending from time to time the academic programmes of the College;
- Initiating and approving any other relevant programmes to improve the quality of teachers and standard of education in the College;
- Awarding any certificate other than degrees in Education or Nigeria Certificate in Education to students who qualify for such awards, and
- Expelling any student for misconduct or withdrawing a student on academic grounds.
